A guide to the
cross-country ski and snowshoe trail system
at Pinecrest, California

The Pinecrest area near Dodge Ridge Ski Resort along Highway 108 is home to an extensive, marked, backcountry, ski and snowshoe trail system. It was developed over many years by the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol.

There are two trailheads, the Crabtree and the Gooseberry, from which 14 trails form an array of opportunities for skiers and snowshoers ranging from beginner to advanced. One of the nice things about these trails is that it is easy to form loops.

Snowlands Network, in cooperation with www.BackcountrySkiTours.com and the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol, has created a detailed guide to these trails. Below are links to both high resolution and low resolution versions of the guide.

Printing on legal size paper

The guide was designed to be printed on legal size paper. If you have the capability of printing on 8.5 x 14-inch paper, then you should use the “full page” versions. For best results, use the high resolution versions.

If you are printing on legal size paper, but your printer is not capable of printing to the edge of the sheet, then set your print software to “scale to fit”. This will slightly reduce the size of the print so that it will print in its entirety.

Printing on standard size paper

The guide is also made available in a format to print on 8.5 x 11-inch paper. In this case you must separately print the left and right halves of each side. You can then cut and manually paste them together to form the guide. Be sure to set your printer's page scaling to "none" or "print actual size".
